Bird Proofing

---

Bird activity can significantly impact commercial, industrial, agricultural, and domestic properties. Without effective bird control services, species such as pigeons, gulls, and corvids can quickly establish roosting and nesting sites. This can lead to large accumulations of guano, blocked gutters and drainage systems, damaged roofing materials, and corrosion of building surfaces. Over time, these issues can result in expensive repair bills, increased maintenance requirements, and unnecessary cleaning costs.

Bird fouling also poses serious health and safety risks. Guano creates slippery surfaces, raising the likelihood of slips and falls, while droppings can harbor harmful bacteria and fungi that endanger employees, contractors, and the public. Nesting materials can obstruct ventilation systems, damage plants and machinery, and create fire hazards, especially around electrical equipment.

During construction and refurbishment projects, bird activity can lead to significant delays and extra expenses. Active nests are protected by law, which may necessitate ceasing work until the young birds have fledged. This can impact demolition, roofing, façade works, bridge maintenance, and other high-level operations, causing program delays, increased labor costs, and disruption to the entire project. Implementing bird proofing measures early, along with ecological advice, can help prevent these issues before they arise.

At JK Wildlife Management, we offer tailored bird proofing solutions specifically designed to prevent birds from accessing vulnerable areas before problems develop. Each project begins with a comprehensive site assessment to identify roosting locations, nesting opportunities, and access points, allowing us to recommend the most effective exclusion measures. Our bird control services include the installation of bird netting, welded mesh systems, anti-perching spikes, proofing to roof voids and service penetrations, and custom exclusion systems for warehouses, factories, offices, schools, retail units, agricultural buildings, and residential properties.

Our operatives hold CPCS, IPAF, and CSCS certifications, enabling us to safely conduct high-level works using MEWPs, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other specialized access equipment. Whether we are protecting a domestic property or executing large-scale bird proofing on live construction sites and industrial facilities, we deliver safe, professional, and long-lasting solutions with minimal disruption.

All our installations are designed to provide discreet, durable, and effective long-term protection while remaining fully compliant with UK wildlife legislation. By combining practical experience, safe working practices, and high-quality materials, JK Wildlife Management assists clients in protecting their assets, reducing ongoing maintenance costs, avoiding costly project delays, and creating safer, cleaner environments for everyone who utilizes the site.
